On behalf of the members of Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, welcome to our website. Here you will find information on our organization’s illustrious history and Lambda Chapter’s efforts to fulfill Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mandate of service to all mankind.

Lambda is a Manhattan-city wide chapter encompassing the campuses of Columbia University, Barnard College, New York University, the City College of New York, Baruch College, Hunter College, and Touro College. Founded on April 22, 1922, Lambda has worked diligently to meet the needs of each of these campuses and the greater New York City area for over 98 years. Our efforts have spanned from issues of healthcare, education, economic empowerment and more. At each turn, Lambda has sought to develop unique and effective programs aimed at addressing the needs of the Black community. From 2018-2022, we have done so through our sorority’s international program: Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service.

The women of Lambda Chapter are prominent student leaders and dedicated community activists, and Lambda Chapter is proud to have contributed towards the growth of each of these extraordinary individuals. Through their work, they continue to live up to the ideals and goals of our beloved sisterhood and this legendary chapter.

We would like to extend our gratitude for your interest in Lambda Chapter. Feel free to continue to learn more about us on Instagram and Facebook @lambda1922, and to reach out to us via email at aka.lambda@gmail.com
